Usage of a Grille and Polyisocyanurate Rigid Foam In Insulation

Overview of a Grille

A grille is a metal bar or a wire placed somewhere as a protection or to allow some ventilation or a discreet observation. It consists of several slits side by side in a metal sheet or a wall in order to let the air pass and is an opening in a passage to let the supply of air or water enter or flow out. There is something called the ABS Grille Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, is a thermoplastic polymer majorly used within marine, refrigeration or cooling, and used in other industrial applications.

Features, Options &Characteristics

A grille is mostly very durable, rust free, light weight, compact resistant, with the various different options of grilles that are Framelessbar grille, Bar grille, Single deflection, Double deflection grille, etc.  A number of options are available for the functionality of your air conditioning. The various phenomenal properties of ABS are – it has a very high impact strength and ductility, its highly resistant to condensation, it is resistant to abrasion, it has light weight, its temperature rating is broad, etc.

Types of grille

There are a number of different types of grilles, such as:
  • Open grille- it is one of the simplest grilles. It is mostly used for high heat direct grilling.
  • Covered grille- used for grilling large or thick food items. Also used for smoking and indirect grilling.
  • Vessel grille- used with the help of a kamado cooker for high heat roasting, smoking and grilling. Etc.
  • Rotisserie Grill- it’s a combination of direct and indirect grilling.
  • Smoker- it’s used majorly for smoking low to moderate temperatures indirect grilling with the help of wood smoke.
  • Open Pit and Campfire-Style – majorly used for radiant heat roasting.

The ABS is made for general usage of for applications indoors, majorly suitable for duct ware, extract in walls, ceilings, etc.

Rigid Foam Insulation Overview

As we all know that what insulation stands for. It is simply a process of keeping sound, heat or electricity from spreading and insulation material is required to bring about this. The material used for insulation is prevents any transmission of heat, sound or electricity. Now let’s have a look at what is Polyisocyanurate Rigid Foam.

Polyisocyanurate Rigid Foam on the other hand is a Rigid Foam Insulation that consists of a foam coat sandwiched between two faces, where Polyiso stands for a closed-cell.  The main purpose of a rigid board is that it is made use in the commercial markets as well as residential areas for the application of top roof as well as side walls. There are other uses of PIR foam as well which includes commercial and industrial pipe insulation along with machining/carving media. But remember that certain health problems are attached to it too as PIR insulation can create irritation to human or animal eyes, skin and respiratory organs. Although no such health risk is mentioned in any of the studies so far that mentions about the diseases caused by it.
