Insulation is the process of keeping
electricity, sound or heat from spreading and it involves insulation material
to do so. If while sleeping at night you are able to heat your neighbor snoring
that simply means that you require better sound insulation. Even if it’s
freezing outside the hot chocolate kept in your thermos stays warm that is
because your thermos provides insulation. Similarly, when it’s steaming hot
outside your ice chests can still carry your sodas and ice very cool in it that
is because the ice chest provides insulation. The state of being isolated or dethatched
is also termed as insulation.
The material used for the purpose of
insulation always protects the surrounding and prevents the transmission of
heat, sound or electricity. Therefore it diminishes, reduces or completely
prevents the transmission of heat, sound or electricity. Now, there is
something called ACMV which means Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation.
The ACMV systems require insulation materials to prevent the transmission of
heat, sound and electricity. The kind of material that is used for the ACMV
systems is of superior thermal K value, its very light and has a high level of
rigidity, it’s very easy to handle and install in the systems, it’s very
adaptable to any sort of installation. With these kinds of factors the
installation becomes very fast and economical for the long term benefit of the
product.
Pir-ALU Pre insulated ducting system is
the first product in Singapore which is certified by the Green Building Council
as the best pre insulated duct product. Piralu is a foam panel coated on both
its sides aluminium that is
lacquered embossed. The piralu panels are specially designed as a material for
ACMV insulation. The big question is how does Piralu keeps the material with
same temperature throughout. The answer to this will be that the vapour barrier
that is created by the alluminium finish and the foam's
insulating properties are such that it helps PIRALU to maintain the same levels
of humidity, purity and temperature throughout the ducting, providing excellent
air quality. The Piralu is a product which reflects the efficiency, good
performance and the aspect of being environmental friendly.
Also there is something called Polyisocyanurate, which is also known as
PIR, polyiso, or ISO, is a thermoset plastic typically produced as a foam and
used as rigid thermal insulation. Polyisocyanurate Rigd Board on
the other hand means that Polyiso is
a closed-cell, rigid foam board insulation consisting of a foam core
sandwiched between two facers. The main use of this Rigd Board is that it is
widely used commercial markets and residential areas for both side walls and
roof top applications. Other typical uses for PIR foams include industrial and
commercial pipe insulation, and carving/machining media (competing with
expanded polystyrene and rigid polyurethane foams).there are certain health
hazards involved too as the PIR insulation can be a mechanical irritant to
skin, eyes, and upper respiratory system during fabrication (such as dust). No
statistically significant increased risks of respiratory diseases have been
found in studies.
